What is your role at HOPE, in your own words?
I have the joy of serving as the Special Needs Coordinator here at HOPE! I get to work with some of the most incredible individuals within the special needs community as well as their families and caregivers. It is my job to help them feel seen, supported, and fully included in the life of our church. Whether it’s helping with leading Sunday morning programs, hosting small groups, planning events, or adapting curriculum to fit unique needs, my heart is to create spaces where everyone feels like they belong. I also help train and encourage our amazing volunteers, help guide our Student ministry buddies on Sunday nights, and help lead monthly adult gatherings that are full of fun, faith, and connection. I believe that everyone has something beautiful to bring to the table, and it’s my passion to help make that happen — whether it’s through a quiet moment in a sensory room or a celebration at summer camp. It’s a true gift to do this work, and I’m grateful every day for the people I get to walk alongside.
What’s your favorite verse/passage of scripture and why?
It’s hard to choose just one, but two of my favorite Bible passages are Matthew 5:9 – “Blessed are the peacemakers, for they will be called children of God” – and Matthew 6:25–34.
Matthew 5:9 resonates with me because it’s a simple yet powerful reminder to pause, respond with grace, and approach others with a spirit of peace. In a world that often moves fast and reacts quickly, I find encouragement in slowing down and seeking to be someone who brings calm, understanding, and reconciliation.
Matthew 6:25-34 is another favorite because it reminds me to stay grounded in the present and to trust God with the things I can’t control. These verses speak so beautifully about God’s care and provision—how He takes care of even the birds and the flowers—and it brings peace to my heart knowing that He is also watching over me. When life feels overwhelming, this passage helps me refocus and find rest in Him.
What year did you start coming to HOPE? Working at HOPE?
I started attending Hope Church in 2012. I joined staff in November of 2024.
What’s something that brings you joy?
Spending time with my family brings me the most joy. I also love gardening, baking sourdough bread, and a good cup of coffee.
What’s your go-to comfort food or coffee order?
My go to coffee order is a blondie from 7 Brew, or an iced caramel macchiato or latte.
If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?
If I could be an expert in anything, I’d love to be a master baker or chef or something creative. I love to bake and I think it would be really cool to be able to make more intricate things.
What’s something people might not know about you?
Something people might not know about me is that I love what I call “grandma hobbies” — like baking, cooking, and other crafts. I also really enjoy hiking and being outside in my garden.
