SACRAMENTS AT HOPE
At HOPE, we participate in the sacraments of baptism and taking communion. Learn more about what this means and how you can participate with us.
INFANT BAPTISMS
Infant baptism involves the acknowledgment that God works in our lives long before we ever know it. This sacrament marks the promise that God is making through Jesus Christ, that forgiveness of sin and new life are offered. When we baptize children at HOPE, we ask the believing parent(s) to reaffirm their personal relationship with Christ, and if married, their vows to one another. We also ask the congregation to express their commitment to encouraging the child to know the love of God and grace of Jesus Christ. We invite families to participate once a month in our worship services.

When we receive Jesus Christ, God washes us clean from sin and adopts us into his family. In baptism, water marks the washing, since water is the universal agent for cleansing. Baptism is a sign that God forgives us, cleanses us from sin, and takes our guilt and shame. When someone accepts Christ as their personal Lord and Savior, they begin a relationship with him. The act of baptism is not what saves, rather, it is an outward expression of an inward transformation and marks the start of a new relationship with Jesus and new life found in him.
LEARN MORE ABOUT BAPTISMCOMMUNION
Communion is a sacrament that Jesus instituted to represent our continued relationship with him. As we take the bread and the wine together, it is a reminder of the new covenant that has been given to us through Jesus' life, death, and resurrection. Communion is a continual opportunity for us to experience ongoing relationship and new life in Jesus Christ. At HOPE, we offer communion to believers on a regular basis (once a month) in our worship services.
