Susan Harrison

Care Coordinator

What is your role at HOPE, in your own words?

I help coordinate support, connection, and resources for those in our congregation who reach out to us with care needs, along with our Care Team and leadership at HOPE. I support and assist the pastoral team as they become aware of care needs. I coordinate memorials and funerals at HOPE, supporting the families through the process and planning of each service.

What’s your favorite verse/passage of scripture and why?

Jeremiah 17:7-8. This is a favorite passage as I feel most connected to the Lord when in nature and also it is a beautiful picture of how the Lord provides for us when we draw near to Him.

What year did you start coming to HOPE? Working at HOPE?

Started attending HOPE in 2012, started working at HOPE in 2020.

What’s something that brings you joy?

I find joy in connecting with people and building relationships. From the families I meet and support during hard times, to meeting new people on Sundays/events, to connecting and spending time with other staff members.

What’s your go-to comfort food or coffee order?

Go-to comfort food would be Pho with chicken. My go-to coffee order is a latte with almond milk.

If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?

Remembering everyone’s name upon first meeting them 😉

What’s something people might not know about you?

I am a Registered Nurse and my background is in oncology nursing.
