Kat Hobbs

Operations Coordinator

What is your role at HOPE, in your own words?

I oversee a lot of behind-the-scenes aspects of HOPE – building use, IT, security, vendors, contractors, and so on!

What’s your favorite verse/passage of scripture and why?

Psalm 13… I deeply relate to this passage! I have felt it through many situations in my life but the ending is true – I will trust in His unfailing love and rejoice because He has rescued me.

What year did you start coming to HOPE? Working at HOPE?

I started attending in 2014 (while I was home on breaks from college), and working at HOPE in 2021.

What’s something that brings you joy?

I really enjoy sewing! It is a craft I have picked up from my mother and MIL. My favorite is when I can make a clothing item out of an old Goodwill bedsheet – bringing new life to something old and forgotten!

What’s your go-to comfort food or coffee order?

Cracker Barrel – chicken & dumplins with green beans and corn will forever cheer me up.

If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?

Saying “no” without feeling guilty for 3-5 business days.

What’s something people might not know about you?

I love antiquing! Walking through antique stores and looking at nostalgic items, old tools, clothes, photos, and furniture is one of my favorite pastimes. My dream antique find would be the complete Lenox Spice Village or many different sizes/colors of the Hen on Nest dishes. Also, I may or may not have a laundry room inspired by Cracker Barrel (brownish-gray walls full of antiques) at my house…
