Jennifer Glotz

Hope Café Manager

What is your role at HOPE, in your own words?

I oversee the day to day operations of Hope Café, recruit and encourage volunteers, and also offering delicious food and a welcoming space!

What’s your favorite verse/passage of scripture and why?

Acts 2:43-47. Because witnessing the love and simplicity of the Gospel is beautiful to behold in the brothers and sisters of the early Church. Breaking bread and sharing a meal can be transformative! Jesus did His best work around tables, food and wine. 🙂

What year did you start coming to HOPE? Working at HOPE?

I started attending in the spring of 2009, and came on staff in April 2013.

What’s something that brings you joy?

Cooking, travel, designing, thrifting, and time with my grandkids!

What’s your go-to comfort food or coffee order?

Beef Bourguignon over mashed potatoes.

If you could instantly become an expert in something, what would it be?

Using my voice as an instrument (singing!).

What’s something people might not know about you?

I was born and raised on Long Island, in a sleepy little place called Head of the Harbor. I came to Virginia to attend JMU back in 1982, and fell in love with the Old Dominion.
