I am lucky to truly call Richmond my home. Apart from my time in college and graduate school at the University of Virginia, and a few years of teaching in Charlottesville, I have lived here for my entire life. I have taught at Tuckahoe Elementary School since 2018 and am grateful to be a part of the vibrant school community there. Teaching elementary school has been one of the most formative functions of my faith; this vocation provides a daily experience of putting on Christ and remaining in His love. Within the classroom, I most enjoy teaching literacy and sincerely love the magic of watching children learn to read.
Outside of school, I am either running, playing tennis, or spending time with friends and family. I am thankful to live within a fifteen-minute drive of my twin sister, brother/sister-in law, loving parents, and lifelong friends.
I began attending HOPE in 2021 and have been a member since 2023. I came to HOPE in a place of apathy. I knew that pandemic challenges were subsiding and that I needed to return to church, but I was unsure of my honest understanding of God. God has sought me through our church and has shown me what it means to live in His love and grace. He has used HOPE to give me a clearer picture of His sovereignty and steadfast nature. I am so grateful that God has a place for me in His kingdom here.
