ABOUT THE PROJECT
In partnership with Wycliffe Bible Translators, Hope Chuch will embark on a five-year project that will translate the New Testament into five language communities in Niger, West Africa. In addition to church-led translation, the project will equip local leaders to sustain future translation efforts and conduct Scripture impact activities like distributing the New Testament in print, digital, audio and video formats.
ABOUT NIGER
- Niger is home to 3.5 million people; 98% of whom practice Islam and only 2% whom profess Christianity.
- There are 12 languages spoken throughout the country.
- Resistance to Christianity runs rampant, leaving some believers unable to find many others who share their faith.
